Hide Forgot
Description of problem: New/Old freeipa (kerberos) user with expired password on a freeipa client Fedora 19 64bit KDE. User tries to login, gets the expired password message prompting to change it. The change password dialog appears but may not be clickable/focusable thus rendering the user unable to enter the new password and change it. Only known workaround is to reboot up to the login screen and restart the procedure, after 3-4 reboots it finally works. The problem appears to happen allot but randomly. Happens with various hardware configurations and GPUs. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new freeipa user (default password expired) 2. Try to login (prompted to change expired password) 3. Attempt to change password Actual results: Password does not change and the GUI (change password dialog) freezes; unable to get focus on the text fields or even close it/reopen it. Expected results: Insert new password, verify password and continue with new password successfuly changed. Additional info: From the same computer(s) I can change the password without any problems what so ever through the CLI with $passwd or from the GUI of KDE Password And User Account Settings.
Thanks for the report (also adding SSSD guys to CC). But after reading the description, this seems to me to be rather an issue in KDE environment, changing the component so that they can evaluate.
kdebase seems to be orphaned (BTW KDE components in Bugzilla could use a cleanup). Changing the component to kde-workspace which should hold the KDM bits.
