Description of problem: I am trying to use BOINC and, while it tries to use OpenCL, it runs into this. SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/boinc_client from 'read' accesses on the file /opt/AMDAPP/lib/x86_64/libamdocl64.so. ***** Plugin restorecon (99.5 confidence) suggests ************************* If you want to fix the label. /opt/AMDAPP/lib/x86_64/libamdocl64.so default label should be lib_t. Then you can run restorecon. Do # /sbin/restorecon -v /opt/AMDAPP/lib/x86_64/libamdocl64.so ***** Plugin catchall (1.49 confidence) suggests *************************** If you believe that boinc_client should be allowed read access on the libamdocl64.so file by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep boinc_client /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:boinc_t:s0 Target Context unconfined_u:object_r:user_home_t:s0 Target Objects /opt/AMDAPP/lib/x86_64/libamdocl64.so [ file ] Source boinc_client Source Path /usr/bin/boinc_client Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages boinc-client-7.0.65-1.git79b00ef.fc19.x86_64 Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.12.1-74.14.fc19.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 3.11.9-200.fc19.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Nov 20 21:22:24 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 1 First Seen 2013-12-04 06:45:48 CST Last Seen 2013-12-04 06:45:48 CST Local ID b883d711-b081-46f6-b068-875e5086e23f Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1386161148.191:19711): avc: denied { read } for pid=13651 comm="boinc_client" name="libamdocl64.so" dev="sda3" ino=742114 scontext=system_u:system_r:boinc_t:s0 tcontext=unconfined_u:object_r:user_home_t:s0 tclass=file type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1386161148.191:19711): arch=x86_64 syscall=open success=no exit=EACCES a0=7f53e1b068c9 a1=80000 a2=17c96d0 a3=17c968a items=0 ppid=13649 pid=13651 auid=4294967295 uid=973 gid=965 euid=973 suid=973 fsuid=973 egid=965 sgid=965 fsgid=965 ses=4294967295 tty=(none) comm=boinc_client exe=/usr/bin/boinc_client subj=system_u:system_r:boinc_t:s0 key=(null) Hash: boinc_client,boinc_t,user_home_t,file,read Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.1.9 hashmarkername: setroubleshoot kernel: 3.11.9-200.fc19.x86_64 type: libreport
Please execute # restorecon -R -v /opt/AMDAPP to fix labeling.
Yes, did and it worked. The thing is that the SELinux troubleshooter offered to "fix" and, when it tried, it didn't. that's another bug though....
