Description of problem: Serial wacom tablets require inputattach to work properly. That was hooked up through udev rules but stopped working with recent udev versions. To fix it, xorg-x11-drv-wacom needs to ship its own systemd.service file Without this the tablet won't be recognised by libwacom and by the GNOME stack. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xorg-x11-drv-wacom-0.23.3-3.el7 How reproducible: Start RHEL7 on a tablet with a built-in serial wacom tablet. The tablet won't show up in the gnome-control-center wacom panel (and thus can't be calibrated, mapped, etc.)
MODIFIED xorg-x11-drv-wacom-0.23.0-6.el7 is available in brew
Hey Peter, Which tablet(s) does this bug apply to? I have an old Intuos 1 that is serial, but I am not sure what you mean by "built in." Thanks
There's a bunch of tablet PCs that have built-in serial tablets. I have some test hardware here from HP from years ago, ended up being sold as HP EliteBook 2730P. This bug does not apply to external tablets, they cannot be automatically detected and attached.
