Description John Cox 2013-12-11 15:27:10 UTC
Description of problem:

Mate-system-monitor network doesn't display any data for interface em1

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.6.1

How reproducible:
Try to use the program to monitor the network connection

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open mate-system-monitor network tab
2.
3.

Actual results: no network traffic

Expected results: indicate network traffic

Additional info:
I don't know how to check which interface system monitor is looking at.
Works with my laptop and a wireless connection.

Comment 1 John Cox 2013-12-14 22:30:08 UTC
more info:
the wireless connection works. Only em1 is a problem.
Also, mate-netspeed and gkrellm have the same problem. Only wireless works, no LAN.

So, is this really a network-manager or driver issue?

Comment 2 John Cox 2013-12-14 22:32:43 UTC
Might be the same as ubuntu launchpad bug:
Bug #1241894

Comment 3 Wolfgang Ulbrich 2013-12-25 07:22:49 UTC
I can't reproduce it here with my network card, so i forwarded it to upstream.
Please ask there for more help.

Comment 4 Wolfgang Ulbrich 2013-12-26 19:33:07 UTC
upstream says it is a alx driver issue.

I suggest to use a a cheap pci network card for your pc for the moment.
