Description of problem:
When booting up the KDM Login manager shows the login window but no background image.  Instead it shows the boot messages/services.  I also have an onscreen keyboard enabled in KDM.  All of this stopped working/appearing.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kde-workspace-4.11.3-1.fc19.x86_64


How reproducible:
everytime

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot machine/logout
2. Only shows login window
3.

Actual results:


Expected results:
login window with background image (and xvkbd loaded)

Can you please attach the recent contents of /var/log/yum.log (since the last time you machine booted to kdm ok)?

GrabServer=false was the culprin in kdmrc.

Correction: GrabServer=true is the culprit.
