Description: For services hosted in virtual machines or in namespaces, their interface plugs into a Neutron port which at most times maps to a virtual switch port (such as OVS port). Neutron is aware of this port and as such can establish the required network connectivity for that interface and service. However, when a service that is realized on a physical appliance is connected to a physical switch's port, it is often not possible to discover the location of this service to be able to provide the required network connectivity.
