Description RHOS Integration 2013-12-12 22:21:06 UTC
Cloned from launchpad blueprint https://blueprints.launchpad.net/neutron/+spec/neutron-switch-port-extension.

Description:

For services hosted in virtual machines or in namespaces, their interface plugs into a Neutron port which at most times maps to a virtual switch port (such as OVS port). Neutron is aware of this port and as such can establish the required network connectivity for that interface and service. However, when a service that is realized on a physical appliance is connected to a physical switch's port, it is often not possible to discover the location of this service to be able to provide the required network connectivity. To overcome this we are proposing an attribute extension to the Neutron port that contains the following attributes -

* switch_id
* switch_port_id
* segment_id

Updating based on u/s status:
Code was not proposed prior to the Icehouse-3 deadline. Deferring to Juno.

This RFE was automatically opened to track status of upstream development.
At this point we see no reason to keep track of this in Red Hat bugzilla, thus closing it.
