plymouth-set-default-theme -R doesn't change theme in initramfs Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHEL-7.0-20131127.1 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run: yum -y install plymouth-plugin* 2. Download theme from: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ SpaceFun+Fedora+Plymouth+theme?content=144162 3. Extract theme to location: "tar xf Downloads/ 144162-plymouth-theme-spacefun-fedora.tar.gz -C /" 4. Run: plymouth-set-default-theme -R spacefun-fedora 5. Run: /usr/libexec/plymouth/plymouth-update-initrd 6. Reboot computer. Actual results: Old Plymouth theme stays. You have to run "dracut -f" to theme change become visible during boot. Expected results: You should see new Plymouth theme during boot and shutdown.

a newer version is already in errata tool. plymouth changed version schemes to make rel-eng build scripts work better. i've updated the Fixed In field to the latest build of plymouth for clarity.
Works for me.
