Description lejeczek 2013-12-21 11:35:24 UTC
Description of problem:

I believe it is a regression, initially with rawhide's Thunderbird's notification popup was very neat and stylish and most importantly very practical - right bottom corner black background balloon sort of a detached and floating independently of the bottom notification area showing nicely and easy to read the message.
Now it is again ugly and awkward to read in middle of bottom.

Can we change it back to how it was originally please?

Which Thunderbird package do you run? It should be fixed by TB-24.2.0-2 and later (http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=485218).

hi

for me it's thunderbird-24.2.0-3.fc20.x86_64 and it seems like notifications are completely gone now, or been silenced in some way?
I've looked into about:config but did not find anything there.

Comment 3 Martin Stransky 2014-02-12 11:57:37 UTC
The system notifications works fine for me. Make sure they are enabled and other gnome apps works with it too.

Comment 4 Martin Stransky 2014-02-12 12:02:13 UTC
Which desktop environment do you run? Can you test other gnome apps?

Comment 5 lejeczek 2014-02-12 12:41:29 UTC
sorry, I meant gone form Thunderbird completely, but not only Thunderbird
I'm on Gnome

Comment 6 Martin Stransky 2014-02-12 12:55:57 UTC
If you don't see any notifications on gnome it's something broken with your gnome notification daemon. Moving

Comment 7 lejeczek 2014-02-12 13:22:17 UTC
I need to start slower typing, sorry, only Thunderbird, only Thunderbird.

I was about to quickly reassign this to you. ;)

Comment 9 lejeczek 2014-02-13 13:02:48 UTC
it was all about Thunderbird, I don't know why Martin assumed it was whole gnome?
I did not suggested it, did I?

well, as of this moment, Thunderbird up to data - thunderbird-24.3.0-1.fc20.x86_64
state of affairs is just like in my first comment, notification pop-ups are there but nowhere near as helpful, practical and good looking as the one we had at the beginning

Comment 10 lejeczek 2014-02-13 13:05:14 UTC
i'm guessing currently notifications are gnome's ones, earlier they felt to me like they were thunderbird's own, hope it make sense

Comment 11 Martin Stransky 2015-01-19 17:45:38 UTC
Should be fixed now. Please reopen if you still see the bug alive.
