Description lotsmanov89 2013-12-21 20:18:21 UTC
Notebook HP Pavilion dv6 3090er.

On the kernel 3.11.10-200.fc19 shutdowning and rebooting works fine, but on 3.12.5-200.fc19 when try shutdown or reboot — all applications was closed and I can see last background (of openbox or lxdm) and nothing happens lot of time.

Comment 1 lotsmanov89 2013-12-23 10:42:54 UTC
And "vgaswitcheroo" doesn't works too on this build of kernel.

# cd /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/
# cat switch
And nothing happens lot of time, infinitely reading "switch". When I try write something to switch — same behaviour. And I can't do keyboard interrupt, I see ^C and nothing else happens.

Comment 2 Josh Boyer 2014-01-08 14:15:56 UTC
Please test 3.12.6 and let us know if it works for the shutdown issue. There was a pci bus master fix that went into that which resolved shutdown/reboot issues for a number of machines.

Comment 3 lotsmanov89 2014-01-08 21:15:08 UTC
I tested kernel-3.12.6-200.fc19.x86_64 and I still have this bug.

Comment 4 Josh Boyer 2014-01-08 21:17:28 UTC
To be clear, which bug are you referring towhen you say 3.12.6 still has it? The reboot/shutdown bug, or the vgaswitcheroo issue? (This is why we prefer one bug per issue.)

Comment 5 lotsmanov89 2014-01-08 21:53:49 UTC
Reboot/shutdown and vgaswitcheroo both.

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 19 kernel bugs.

Fedora 19 has now been rebased to 3.13.5-100.fc19. Please test this kernel update and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.
