RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

registry-main.c:160 is

                g_warning ("Failed to register client: %s", error->message);

It would be useful to know the error message.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '18'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be
able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The same problem has been detected in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7. The following packages are affected:

at-spi2-core-2.8.0-4.el7.x86_64

Does it happen exactly like the original bug reporter said, i.e. right after logging in to a GNOME session?

Can you get us a backtrace and log messages (there should be something in the journal).

Comment 4 RHEL Program Management 2014-03-22 06:17:22 UTC
This request was not resolved in time for the current release.
Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in
the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Still happens on RHEL7.2 (see http://faf-report.itos.redhat.com/problems/76/ for a list of affected version) on gdm shutdown

Comment 7 Rui Matos 2015-08-19 17:01:24 UTC
Installed the latest compose I could find (RHEL-7.2-20150806.1-Workstation-x86_64) but I can't reproduce this.

Do you have any particular way to reproduce? What do you mean by gdm shutdown, exactly?

Unfortunately, no

> What do you mean by gdm shutdown, exactly?

Our tests are closing the session using 'systemctl stop gdm' call, this sometimes triggers this.

Marking as minor, as doesn't seem to be affecting usual user's workflow

Looks like it is, closing
