Description Chris Negus 2014-01-13 16:55:41 EST
Description of problem:
Encountered a few errors associated with subscribing and setting up RHOS from Chapter 2 of this guide (dated: 18 Dec 2013): https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_OpenStack_Platform/4/html-single/Getting_Started_Guide/

------------------

1) Section 2.1.2.4. Red Hat OpenStack Repository Configuration (STEP 2):
In this step, I used an entitlement that included RHEL and OpenStack. However, OpenStack was not enabled by default. Therefore, when I tried to install yum-plugin-priorities in step 5, it failed because the package needs that repository.

2) Section 2.1.2.4. Red Hat OpenStack Repository Configuration (STEP 6):
This command did not change the priority for me. I had a priority of 99 for openstack:
    # yum-config-manager --enable rhel-6-server-openstack-4.0-rpms \
        --setopt="rhel-6-server-openstack-4.0-rpms.priority=1

To make the above work, I just added "priority = 1" to the [rhel-6-server-openstack-4.0-rpms] entry in /etc/yum.repos.d/redhat.repo. That seemed to cause the priority for the openstack repo to show as 1. However, didn't know how to test that it had actually taken effect.

3) Section 2.1.3. . Disabling Network Manager:
I recommend moving this section before section 2.1.2. I think it makes more sense to configure the network properly before you use it when you run subscription-manager.

Hi Martin,

Apologies for the late reply on this.

After doing some investigation, it appears that the RHN channels for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 are available for users of Satellite.

I do not think there should be an issue with including this channel in this topic given that there is a note outlining the above situation in the documentation, so I will place this bug back on QA.

Kind regards,

Andrew
