Description of problem:

[root@isqa3 bin]# ls -la /tmp/foo2/
total 8
drwxr-xr-x    2 root     root         4096 Sep 27 04:25 .
drwxrwxrwt   11 root     root         4096 Sep 27 04:21 ..
[root@isqa3 bin]# rpm -ivh --dbpath /tmp/foo2 --justdb
/mnt/ftpdisk/redhat/linux/beta/taroon/en/as/ppc/RedHat/RPMS/redhat-release-2.9.5AS-9.ppc.rpm

Segmentation fault

Seems to work on a x86_64 I tried, but segvaults on a ppc64

rpm-4.2.1-3.ppc

Is this still an issue with rpm-4.2.1-4.2?

Adrian do you still see this with latest rpm erratum for RHEL 3 on ppc?

This bug is filed against RHEL 3, which is in maintenance phase.
During the maintenance phase, only security errata and select mission
critical bug fixes will be released for enterprise products. Since
