Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1069962
Recording of remote systems botches host specification somehow
Last modified: 2016-07-19 07:04:20 EDT
Ben England reports on pmchart live mode recording: > - recording feature blows up when you use short hostnames. > workaround: you need to use the FQDN (long) hostname in the New Chart... > dialog, this can be done using above workaround. If pmchart was able to connect to pmcd using the host specification given, to plot metrics, then pmlogger should also be able to connect. I suspect somewhere we are using the resolved host name (as reported in pmcd.hostname metric) rather than the string passed into pmchart to establish the initial connection.
