This work is mostly internal code changes to the organization and structure of swift. There should be no change to the existing behavior.

That said, there will be a mechanism to select a plug-able storage back-end, though it is still not clear exactly how that mechanism will work.

Comment 2 Bruce Reeler 2014-03-06 07:32:34 UTC
This bug is being assigned to slong, who is now the designated docs specialist
for swift.
Setting Priority and Severity same as parent bug for now.

Comment 3 Summer Long 2014-04-08 02:46:32 UTC
Hi Peter, None of the upstream changes have DocImpact set and changes look very internal. Is anything different now on the command line?
thanks, Summer

Comment 4 Peter Portante 2014-04-08 02:50:52 UTC
I don't know of any documentation that needs to change because of this backend work.

It won't be until post Icehouse that one can take advantage of this work, though the RHS team is using gluster-swift already, which leverages this work today.

Comment 5 Summer Long 2014-04-08 02:53:55 UTC
Ok, just backend and no docs needed. Closing.
