Description Andy Grimm 2014-03-06 19:56:05 UTC
Title: Adding a Member

Describe the issue:

This section states: "Add a member to a domain with the following command, specifying the user login and domain name." It does not emphasize that this login must be an existing account. The example simply uses an email address, which readers may assume could be any email address.

Suggestions for improvement:

Emphasize that prior to adding someone to a domain, they must have an account.

This issue came from an IRC conversation with a customer in #openshift

<magickweb> Hi - I have a problem with openshift.com. I am trying to add a member via the web console, and get an error every time. the error is "Could not update members.".When I try in the RHC client, I get "Adding 1 editor to domain ... There is no account with login xdc.". How can I add a member?
<magickweb> Hello, seeing as we cannot login using RHC, can we do port forwarding using ssh?
<agrimm> magickweb, have them sign up for openshift first
<magickweb> agrimm: Damn that actually worked! Wow - I seriously recommend you add that to your documentation. It is really not clear
<agrimm> magickweb, sorry, I will pass that suggestion to our doc folks
<magickweb> agrimm: Thanks, I see others - via google - have also been confused. Thanks again for your help
<agrimm> magickweb, oh, are there stackoverflow posts about this or something?
<magickweb> I saw a post in the openshift.com forum, and also in a old log from IRC.
