AFAIK this is a graphical tool only and ocsync is/was a command line tool. I need a command line tool to sync home drives just after login (from sftp).

Comment 4 Martin Fahrendorf 2014-04-02 17:32:08 UTC
OK

there seems to be a command line version of mirall as well, but this supports owncloud (DAV) server only.

Yeah you are right, I am sorry I din't answer sooner, its a crazy time for me. I guess I can package csync since probably more people are using owncloud-csync for other usages other than owncloud-client.

https://www.csync.org/

Let me know if that would cover your needs?

Comment 6 Martin Fahrendorf 2014-05-26 14:58:00 UTC
Sorry for my late answer

I tested csync several times but had some problems due to missing kerberos support (this was a missing libssh thing but that is solved in the mean time). I tested some enhancements of csync, added kerberos support myself, commented out some other problems and got it working so far. But main problem is: csync does not support symbolic links.

On the other hand: csync has a little module pam_csync which can sync home folders on login (and may be on logout) which I originally was looking for. As soon as csync can handle symbolic links I will try it out again.

Currently I am thinking of using unison for my case with some kind of scripts arround.

I can not update any of my packages for the time being, will know If I can continue contributing in about a month. I can pass the ownership to who ever wants to maintain it or I we can share ownerships if I can still contributing. But will not know my status until august 1st is my best guess.

Given that mirall has Obsoletes: owncloud-csync, and that in mirall 1.5.1 release notes, upstream said "Please note that for the time being csync and mirall/ownCloud Client (oCC) are going to be released together for now. In the future, separated releases will be possible.", I think owncloud-csync should be retired (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_remove_a_package_at_end_of_life )

Comment 9 Joseph Marrero 2014-10-11 21:12:12 UTC
As of today this package has been obsoleted on f21 and rawhide.
If someone still needs a similar app, should check the upstream project: https://www.csync.org/
