Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1085159
Should say 'packets' instead of 'packages'
Last modified: 2014-07-18 02:18:19 EDT
Title: Bond Describe the issue: Should say 'packets' instead of 'packages'. Suggestions for improvement: We transmit packets and install packages. Packets is the correct term to use with regards to network.
Fixed in 8941.
Hi Marina, Thank you for raising this bug. I have updated the section on Bonds as follows to change references to 'packages' to 'packets' and clarify the overall topic: http://documentation-devel.engineering.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.4/html-single/Technical_Guide/index.html#Bond Were there any sections that you were aware of that might also need to be checked? I will take a look myself, but if there were any others that stood out to you then I would like to correct this issue as soon as possible. Kind regards, Andrew
Andrew, I searched the document for both words - package and packets and seems like they are used in the correct content. This is the most I can tell you. Just keep in mind for the future: - packets are going through the network - packages contains software files, if I can say it this way :-) (packages can be transferred via the network, but network protocols would split them into packets).
Hi Marina, Thank you for taking a look. I will keep an eye out myself for any further references and get them fixed if any come up. Thanks once again for raising this - it's definitely a glaring issue. Andrew
