Description Don Himelrick 2014-04-17 14:57:01 UTC
When remmina is opened full screen, then one OR two things happen.

1: The remmina menu at the the top of the remote desktop, which should drop down when you mouse over, disappears and you cannot access it.

2: The gnome shell "interface" on the top of the other monitor disappears and you have to use the "windows" key on the keyboard to get it back.

Its is hard to say which one happens first, but on fresh reboots, it seems that remmina goes full screen fine with it's drop down menu, but gnome shell is broken onthe other monitor. Once you move the mouse to the other monitor, hot corners and such do not work and all you have is the desktop background from top to bottom of the screen. Once you use the windows key to get gnome shell back, then the drop down menu remmina uses in full screen mode goes away. The only thing in the gnome shell "menu" (if you can call it that) is a "Quit" option.

Thank very much bug report and willing make free software better.

As I already use remmina in my day job I really try fix known issues and make it up to date. Unfortunately it is big project which is poorly maintained upstream for long time. In prepare new release of freerdp and remmina we hope it may be changed now. Remmina still have many opened issues some of opened for years. Meantime some of major have trend to resolve (for example not official path to solve clipboard issue https://github.com/FreeRDP/Remmina/issues/280#issuecomment-51663311 already in rawhide).

So have such problems unfortunately became near impossible maintain such fixes in stable Fedora versions.
With help of Simone Caronni we have new version 1.0.0 from git master branch which promise some enhancements as well and based on freerdp 1.1.0 released recently. I can suggest for everyone to try that.

Please reopen if you problem still reproduced on that version.

Problem is still there using Fedora 21, and remmina 1.1.0 from repos.

If you go fullscreen there is no way to access the remmina toolbar on top: just a little stripe is visible but will not dropdown (in order for example to click disconnect or minimize buttons).

to leave fullscreen the only option is to HOST_KEY+f

For those that are wondering, the default HOST_KEY is the right hand Ctrl key. So to get out of full screen press "right hand Ctrl"+f
