Description of problem: Had a hard time figuring out where to get Spice guest tools for windows guests. Finnaly found them at: http://www.spice-space.org/download/binaries/spice-guest-tools/ The package includes: - qxl video driver - kvm baloon driver - paravirtualized net and block drivers Would be nice to have a "Install Spice Guest Tools" in the menu of the VM window. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info:
We can't actually ship the virtio win drivers as part of fedora, since currently they aren't buildable with fedora infrastructure, and that likely won't happen in the future. However I've had a TODO item for a long time to wrap the iso and extracted driver files in an RPM and publish a separate repo for that. So we can use this bug to track that request.
Do you think rpmfusion can host them?
I could host them from a fedorapeople page or a copr repo
FWIW this is mostly done, I'm just documenting it today. Will update the bug soon
Details about the repo are here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Windows_Virtio_Drivers .iso file still doesn't contain the qxl drivers, but that will be fixed with the next .iso build
That's great. Thanks.
