Description Artyom 2014-05-12 08:43:32 UTC
Description of problem:
I think from 3.3 we have cluster policies center, for create new policies and also possibility to add external policies modules(filters, weights, balance)
Also in 3.4 you have additional cluster policy vm_evenly_distribute and power saving policy have additional parameters.
So from my view it's good reason to create additional subject:
Cluster Policies
Where you can look on all system cluster policies(Power Saving, Evenly Distributed, Vm Even Distribution and their parameters), also information about all build-in filters, weight and balance modules and also information how to create and add external modules to cluster policies.
And from cluster subject create link on Cluster Policies subject

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.4
http://documentation-devel.engineering.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.4/html-single/Administration_Guide/index.html

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:
No information about cluster policy center

Expected results:
Must be additional subject for Cluster policies with all subjects that I described above

Hi Artyom,

Thank you for raising this bug.

I am looking into this feature now, and I had a question about it that you might be able to help me with.

Namely, how can you edit the values for filter modules? According to the oVirt feature page (http://www.ovirt.org/Features/oVirt_External_Scheduler), it looks like there would be pencil icons next to each of the enabled filter modules so that you could configure them, but I cannot see any.

Do you know how to edit filter modules?

Any information you can provide would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Hi Andrew, like always it's little different from feature page, how I know you can't edit built-in filters, also weight modules you can edit just weight factor, but you also have possibility to add you filters and modules(external http://www.ovirt.org/Features/oVirt_External_Scheduler)
I hope it will help you, you can also ask me via email or irc.
