Hit this problem on qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.425.el6.x86_64.

Steps:
1. Boot vm with spice.

-vga qxl \
-spice port=5900,disable-ticketing \

2. expire password to vnc protocol

(qemu) expire_password vnc +32

Result:

Fixed in upstream and rhel-7.
IMO this is so minor that we we can ignore it for rhel-6
