There is no upstream fix required for this patch as fedora brew has these security flags passed on CFLAGS and LDFLAGS and hence closing it.

Its fine with Fedora.  How about glusterfs rpms available in downloads of gluster.org?

I believe this bug/fix needs to be taken into upstream spec file.  Its up to the maintainers of respective distros (fedora, centos, etc) choice of ignoring the fix in their own spec file.
