Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1132983
Minimal install has changed in RHEL6.6
Last modified: 2014-08-22 09:43:04 EDT
Description of problem: Between composes RHEL-6.6-20140731.1 and RHEL-6.6-20140820.0 the minimal installation has changed. Two packages had been dropped from the minimal install: $ diff new-pkgs old-pkgs 6a7 > authconfig 229a231 > system-config-firewall-base So two packages are now no longer installed authconfig and system-config-firewall-base. I suspect anaconda did this. I do not know if this change is expected. This breaks Common Criteria installation kickstart that counts with authconfig installed. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): anaconda-13.21.225-1.el6 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install minimal install 2. rpm -q authconfig system-config-firewall-base Actual results: Not installed Expected results: Installed Additional info: We should not change minimal install during releases. Could break customer setups.
These tools were never part of the core group. In order to avoid pulling in unnecessary dependencies, authconfig and system-config-firewall-base are no longer installed unless they are actually needed during installation. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1123481 ***
