Description Marko Myllynen 2014-09-08 05:53:23 UTC
Description of problem:
virt-install should (optionally) create the Qemu guest agent channel. qemu-guest-agent package is available in Fedora/RHEL repos but it to be helpful requires editing guest XML description unlike other features.

Thanks for the report. We do add the qemu-ga channel if the OS is specified as Fedora 18 or later... we should probably do it for rhel/centos 7 as well. Can you confirm it works if specifying --os-variant fedora20?

Yes, it works with fedora20. It also works with rhel7. The case when it doesn't work is with rhel6 which I was testing. RHEL/CentOS 6 also contains qemu-guest-agent these days so perhaps it the channel could be enabled also in that case.
