Description Harm Weites 2014-10-01 20:29:37 UTC
Description of problem:

Nova 2014.1.2-1 comes with a wrong interfaces.template file, eg. from before switching to jinja2. This file differs badly from upstream stable at [1]. The result is any setup trying to deploy networksettings through configdrive file because the template is handed over without proper replacements/processing.

# rpm -qf /usr/share/nova/interfaces.template
openstack-nova-common-2014.1.2-1.el6.noarch

This changed upstream in [2] where the switch was made from cheetah to jinja2, however in packaging this seems to have been forgotten. It involved a new interfaces.template, adopting the jinja2 syntax.

This is fixed in our current (RDO Juno) packages.
