Had to manually add the following line to to be able to browse files in an Amazon Kindle Fire: ATTR{idVendor}=="1949", ATTR{idProduct}=="00f2", SYMLINK+="libmtp-%k", ENV{ID_MTP_DEVICE}="1", ENV{ID_MEDIA_PLAYER}="1" Worked OK tranferring files using Nautilus as a normal user with this in place.
