Assigning to Don Domingo, who is the assigned writer for Cinder.
Hi Chris, I edited the RHOS5 documentation as follows: * In 'Example 1.1. Default (single-instance) configuration' of the Configuration Reference Guide (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_OpenStack_Platform/5/html/Configuration_Reference_Guide/section_volume-drivers.html#dell-equallogic-driver), I moved the 'san_thin_provision=true' to the #Required Settings section. * In 'Enable multi back-end' of the Cloud Admin Guide (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_OpenStack_Platform/5/html/Cloud_Administrator_Guide/section_manage-volumes.html#multi_backend), I added 'san_thin_provision=true' to the sample configuration of the Dell EQL multi-backend setup. I also added that san_thin_provision is required. Changes should be up either tomorrow or later in the week. Setting this BZ to POST; let me know if any further revisions are required.
Only that it is not a "required setting". It is optional and the recommended setting is true. If they don't specify it defaults to true as well.
Hi Rajini, Sorry, I misspoke. I meant to say that the Cloud Admin Guide explains that the setting is recommended. In the Configuration Reference Guide, the setting does still appear in the #Required Settings section of the sample config file. I realize this is not entirely accurate, so I've moved it back to the Optional section and just added a new paragraph after the variable listing stating that san_thin_provision=true is recommended. The change should be up by tomorrow.
Looks good Don! Thanks!
