Description of problem: Opened on request of customer. From their perspective, the success of their PaaS offering depends on being able to provide HA-like features to the RDBMS cartridges they provide to their customers, who use MySql predominantly but may use other RDBMS. They are requesting that scalability (HA/clustering) for RDBMS cartridges/containers be included in both 2.2.x and 3.x dev streams. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 2.2.x 3.x Additional info: They want HA in 2.x because they'll be on it through most of next year. They want in 3.x as well and want Red Hat to provide the features. They do not want to have to request them from each potential vendor.
All, I am closing this in favor of: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1333501 and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1333499 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1333500 In short to my understanding 2 of the 3 DB's we provide already provide HA capabilities, however OpenShift images are not scalable (to form a cluster) by simply scaling a pod. For this reason I have filed the denoted bugs under AOS, and the 3rd under Software Collections (as postgress needs HA capabilities before an image can be built, and OpenShift can consume it).
