Description of problem: The spell checker option is not present in the build of inkscape included with Fedora 20. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): inkscape-0.48.5-1.fc20.x86_64 How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: In the "Text" menu, there should/could be a "Check Spelling..." option. Additional info: When building inkscape, this option is only enabled if the aspell and aspell-devel packages are installed. I tried building inkscape from scratch after installing these packages and the spell checker is present in this build.

Ewww, aspell. :-( Inkscape really needs to get support for Hunspell, which the rest of the distribution is using, not legacy aspell which needs its own legacy dictionaries.
Yeah, see http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/FeatureDictionary for when and how fedora converged on hunspell.
