Description of problem: The directory /etc/sgml is unowned if only xml-common is installed. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xml-common-0.6.3-41.fc21.noarch How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install xml-common: # mock -r fedora-21-x86_64 --init # mock -r fedora-21-x86_64 --install xml-common 2. enter the mock chroot and check /etc/sgml # mock -r fedora-21-x86_64 --shell # rpm -qf /etc/sgml file /etc/sgml is not owned by any package Actual results: c.f. above Expected results: /etc/sgml to be owned. Additional info: /etc/sgml is owned by sgml-common # repoquery -qf /etc/sgml sgml-common-0:0.6.3-41.fc21.noarch however xml-common does not depend upon sgml-common I.e. either, xml-common should depend on sgml-common (This would be incorrect if there isn't any further reason fpr xml-common to require sgml-common) or xml-common needs to own /etc/sgml as well. I think the latter applies.
Yes, requirement on sgml-commmon doesn't make sense. I don't see any harm to add directory ownership to xml-common subpackage as well.
Fixed in sgml-common-0.6.3-42.fc22. Closing RAWHIDE, thanks for report.
Thanks for fixing this issue - But ... can we please have an update for F21? This bug was filed against F21, so this bug is UNFIXED.
Well, RAWHIDE/NEXTRELEASE are valid resolutions for bugzillas. However, as this is leaf package, I'll make bodhi update. I'm not big fan of updates in released Fedoras for such changes though (that was the main reason for rawhide only change).
sgml-common-0.6.3-42.fc21 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 21. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/sgml-common-0.6.3-42.fc21
sgml-common-0.6.3-42.fc21 has been pushed to the Fedora 21 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
