Description Fernando Nasser 2004-03-05 16:54:59 EST
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113

Description of problem:
I am trying to create a second e-mail account. No matter what I write
in the "Incoming Server:" entry box it always gives me the

   "Please enter a valid hostname."

message.

I've tried adding the port number

pop.xxx.yyyy.zzz.wwwww.rogers.com:110

But that did not solve the problem either.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.6

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Edit -> Mail and Newsgroups Account Setting -> Add Account
2.Choose "email account", Next, fill, Next
3.Choose POP3 and fill the "Incoming Server:" entry box with your ISP
pop server address.

Actual Results: Dialog box with the message: "Please enter a valid
hostname."

Expected Results: Next page of the e-mail account creation wizard.

What hostname are you trying to use?
Comment 2 Fernando Nasser 2004-07-23 09:07:03 EDT
Chris,

I am really sorry. I've tried this for months with different versions
(I've upgraded to 1.6 hoping this would go away) and always got this
error. 100% of the times I've tried.

I've just tried it today and it works!!! The only thing that changed
were updates to RHL 9 -- the version of Mozilla is the same.

You can close this one. My appologies.

Regards,
Fernando
