Description Christian Rose 2004-03-08 13:26:35 UTC
#: ../src/samba-share.py:66
msgid "Please specify an IP."

"an IP" is very jargonish, and difficult to translate (what gender
does this acronym have?). Please use the full terminology, such as "an
IP address" or "an IP number" in this case, which is perfectly
translateable.

See
http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#language
for more about this problem and its effect on translation.

Also see bug 117715 which is similar to this one.

Should be fixed in cvs. I removed the translation tags for many of
the strings in samba-share.py. That code that is not currently
functional and those strings are going to change anyway, so there's no
point in translating them now. I didn't mean for them to get in the
pot file at this point. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
