Description of problem:
The i2o drivers are broken in the 2.6 kernel. New sources from Adaptec
need to be merged into distribution.

This is a major issue, as a number of servers and disk controllers use
the i2o interface.

Adaptec has new source drivers out which should be available for
merging into the tree.

http://linux.adaptec.com/linux_raid_unsupported.html has the driver
source for i2o RAID, version 2.4-2

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On installation, try to find the i2o drivers
2. They aren't there

Actual Results: Failure to install

Expected Results: Should detect and/or allow installation to i2o
based controllers

Additional info:

http://linux.adaptec.com/linux_raid_unsupported.html has the driver
source for i2o RAID, version 2.4-2

Comment 1 Arjan van de Ven 2004-03-09 18:54:47 UTC
adaptec is free to submit the driver for the upstream kernel...
