Description of problem: The current install guide tells me to "Install NTP". If you are not a Linux admin, you may not know how, and more importantly, you may wonder what configuration bits you may need to poke at... it is a time sync and a diversion. Resolution: The install guide should tell me to "apt-get install ntp" (for Ubuntu), or "Yum install ..." for CentOS, RHEL - give them the cut and paste command like ceph.com already does. The Storage admin may not know that "just installing the NTP package" does what we need, they are not Linux hackers, they are clickety-click storage admins.
We could borrow a lot from Red Hat Storage's documentation here: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Storage/3/html/Installation_Guide/chap-Planning_Red_Hat_Storage_Installation.html#Network_Time_Protocol_Setup
NTP commentary was added on Friday.
Steps to Install NTP has been added to the Installation Guide.. Verified the same in the documentation..
Please add one more line under NTP section :-- only rhel 6 command has been added under Step2 of NTP,please add the following command to enable ntpd service after reboot.. Make sure NTP starts on reboot. RHEL 6 : sudo chkconfig ntpd on RHEL 7 : systemctl enable ntpd.service
