Description RamaKasturi 2015-03-25 07:25:56 UTC
Description of problem:
When user tries to start geo-replication from UI it always stays in "INITIALIZING" state and does not go to "Active".

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ovirt-engine-3.6.0-0.0.master.20150322182642.gitddaa14c.el6.noarch

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a geo-replication session from cli.
2. click on the sync button under the geo-replication subtab
3. Now click on stop geo-replication button.
4. Once the session is stopped, click on start again.

Actual results:
Geo-replication status always shows "INITIALIZING" and does not go to "Active"

Expected results:
Geo-replication status should be active once the user session has been started.

Comment 4 RamaKasturi 2015-04-15 05:32:26 UTC
When user tries to start geo-replication session from UI, it first goes to INITIALIZING -> UNKNOWN

When user forcefully syncs the status changes to ACTIVE and again goes back to UNKNOWN.

Attaching the engine and vdsm logs for the same. Logs can be found in the link below.

Comment 5 RamaKasturi 2015-04-15 06:17:49 UTC
Moving this back to on_qa because the problem is with engine not syncing the status correctly and not with start as such.

Comment 6 RamaKasturi 2015-04-15 06:24:38 UTC
cannot verify this bug because of the issue

Comment 7 RamaKasturi 2015-05-04 06:13:26 UTC
Moving this back to assigned state because it does not work.

Comment 8 RamaKasturi 2016-02-03 07:37:24 UTC
Tested with RHEV 3.6.2.6 and RHGS Nightly ( glusterfs-3.7.5-17.el7rhgs )

Able to start geo-rep session successfully from UI and the status of the session goes to ACTIVE and does not go back to UNKNOWN.
