Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1207311
Need to document the fact that all hosts in the DC should see a storage device
Last modified: 2015-11-23 10:53:40 EST
Description of problem: When creating or extending a block storage domain, all the hots in the DC must be able to access it (see, e.g., bug 1192642). Currently, the Administration Guide states the following: """ All communication to the storage domain is via the selected host and not directly from the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager. At least one active host must exist in the system, and be attached to the chosen data center, before the storage is configured. """ (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.5/html/Administration_Guide/sect-Preparing_and_Adding_Block_Storage.html) While this is true, it's also important to add a note that describes that devices should be accessible from all the hosts. If the user attempts using a device that is not accessible from ALL the hosts, the operation will fail with an error. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.5.0 Additional info:
