Description Swâmi Petaramesh 2015-04-30 09:53:09 UTC
Description of problem:

I have a KDE multi-physical-screen configuration and use KDE with mutiple (6) desktops.

When logging into KDE, it automatically reopens the applications windows that were running last time the KDE session was closed.

Using FC 21 and KDE 4.x, it was perfect :
- KDE session was starting on the desktop where it was when I left
- All applications were opened on the virtual desktop and physical screen where they had previously been running.

Using FC 22 beta and KDE Plasma 5 it doesn't work anymore :
- KDE session starts on the desktop where it was when I left
- But all applications and windows open on the CURRENT virtual desktop and 1st physical screen.

So it appears that their "desktop location" info has been lost.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

plasma-desktop-5.3.0-1.fc22.x86_64

How reproducible:

100% reproductible

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start KDE
2. Configure it to use several virtual desktops (if needed)
3. Open several applications on different desktops
4. End session
5. Login again

Actual results:
- All apps and windows reopen on CURRENT virtual desktop

Expected results:
- All apps and windows should reopen on the virtual desktop on which they were previously running (as it did with all previous KDE versions)

I'm using activities instead of virtual desktops. The same happens in that configuration.

I have 5 activities and open applications on each of them. On the next login the applications are all opened on the first activity that got opened (which is not necessarily the first in the list).
