Description of problem: When logging in into Fedora 22 (and possibly others) with LightDM using the fingerprint reader, the behavior of the login screen is weird and possibly not intended. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.10.4-1.fc22 How reproducible: I have one laptop with fingerprint reader (X200t) and I can reproduce the bugs every time. Setup to Reproduce each example: 1. Assign a fingerprint to your user with fprintd-enroll (I've used fprintd-enroll <username> -f right-thumb, but I don't think that is significant) 2. Log out 3. Observe and use the login screen Example 1: 1. LightDM says "Swipe your finger across the fingerprint reader" 2. Swipe the finger you've enrolled Actual results: Nothing happens. You actually have to press Return (or the Log in button, haven't tried that) to log in. Expected results: Either log the user in or display a message saying the fingerprint didn't match. Recorded on video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/34xdmhe5nncpi10/VIDEO0003.mp4?dl=0 00:04 swiping the finger 00:06 pressing Return Example 2: 1. Enter your password (actually good, wrong or empty password) and press Return (or the Log in button, haven't tried that) Actual results: The login screen is not responding, the only possible thing to do is to select other user. Expected results: Either log me in, or tell me the password is wrong, or that when I have fingerprint enrolled, I cannot log in with password (in that case, better remove the password input field) Note: After swiping bad finger, I can login with password. Recorded on video with empty password: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3pkwuh4t6rog1l1/VIDEO0004.mp4?dl=0 00:01 pressing Return 00:14 swiping the finger 00:15 pressing Return Recorded on video with good password: (still uploading, will take some time, will post a comment) As you can see, the experience is pretty bad. Can we do something about it?
