Description of problem: Installed propeietary nVidia driver. Error appeared on next restart. SELinux is preventing nvidia-modprobe from 'write' accesses on the directory /dev. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that nvidia-modprobe should be allowed write access on the dev directory by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep nvidia-modprobe /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:xdm_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 Target Context system_u:object_r:device_t:s0 Target Objects /dev [ dir ] Source nvidia-modprobe Source Path nvidia-modprobe Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages Target RPM Packages filesystem-3.2-32.fc22.x86_64 Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.13.1-128.1.fc22.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Permissive Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 4.0.5-300.fc22.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Jun 8 16:15:26 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 3 First Seen 2015-06-23 20:59:56 MDT Last Seen 2015-06-24 06:32:44 MDT Local ID d3393752-154d-457a-9ebf-823e683668e3 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1435149164.885:309): avc: denied { write } for pid=1609 comm="nvidia-modprobe" name="/" dev="devtmpfs" ino=1025 scontext=system_u:system_r:xdm_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=system_u:object_r:device_t:s0 tclass=dir permissive=1 Hash: nvidia-modprobe,xdm_t,device_t,dir,write Version-Release number of selected component: selinux-policy-3.13.1-128.1.fc22.noarch Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.6.0 hashmarkername: setroubleshoot kernel: 4.0.5-300.fc22.x86_64 type: libreport

Did you need to switch to permissive mode to make it working? Or does it work in enforcing mode even this AVC? Thank you.
Apologies. Sort of forgot about this. Problem appears to be resolved as of version 23, or perhaps a newer version of the nVidia driver. The problem did not manifest when installed version 23. I'll mark it as resolved.
