ok found it; will be fixed in the next build (398 or later)
It works again with 2.6.6-1.406, tho there still remains minor issue with wrong IRQ reporting in xorg.0.log (xorg-x11-6.7.0-3): (II) I810(0): [drm] dma control initialized, using IRQ -1007 which used to work with original kernel and xorg.
The "using IRQ" minor issue works again in kernel-2.6.9-1.681_FC3 and xorg-x11-6.8.1-12.FC3.1 So i guess, it is ok to close this bug.
Fedora Core 2 has now reached end of life, and no further updates will be provided by Red Hat. The Fedora legacy project will be producing further kernel updates for security problems only. If this bug has not been fixed in the latest Fedora Core 2 update kernel, please try to reproduce it under Fedora Core 3, and reopen if necessary, changing the product version accordingly. Thank you.
