Description of problem:
"xdg-open console.vv" command doesn't invoke remote-viewer

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
virt-viewer-2.0-4.el7.x86_64
glib2-2.42.2-3.el7.x86_64


How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download a console.vv file from RHEVM
2. Run command "xdg-open console.vv"

Actual results:
The command opens the console.vv file in gedit.

Expected results:
The command should invoke remote-viewer to open the console.vv file.

Additional info:
1. This is a glib2 issue from bug 1175719, so please help to transfer it to glib developer, thanks!

2. This issue doesn't occur in glib2-2.40.

This is a glib2 bug which was fixed upstream https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=744282

Tested with rhel7.3:http://download.eng.pek2.redhat.com//pub/rhel/rel-eng/RHEL-7.3-20160729.1/compose/Server/x86_64/os/, this problem dosn't occur any more.

After evaluating this issue, there are no plans to address it further or fix it in an upcoming release.  Therefore, it is being closed.  If plans change such that this issue will be fixed in an upcoming release, then the bug can be reopened.
