I wonder why the template "kickstart_networking_setup" which is used for iface configuration is not Locked. I mean, how are we supposed to do upgrades when customer make a change for that template? Do we ignore the new version? Do we overwrite customers changes? I think the best way should be to follow the same pattern Anaconda Kickstarts or even Bootdisk have. The template should be Locked (read-only) and there should be a global setting allowing the user to point Satellite 6 on his own copy. After the upgrade we can simple ask the customers in the Upgrade notes to modify their own copy according the new version. We can even enforce this easily putting a version number in the template and if that does not match expected version, we can thrown an error forcing user to increase this number in his copy manually to get his attention. This BZ is an attempt for a blocker bug fort 6.1 GA to make the template Locked and to introduce new Setting with name of the template to use when provisioning, so users can override it when needed.

I think the problem is more generic, we need to find a way to upgrade all templates in an interactive way so customers can compare the changes against their modified versions.
This is an older bug which I do not envision being fixed in the near term. I am closing this out. If you believe doing so is an issue, please feel free to re-open and provide additional business information. Thank you.
