Description of problem: kmenuedit does not update the menu. (as a normal user) Seems to create .desktop files in ~/.local/share/applications/ but if you exit out of kmenuedit (after saving) and go back in, changes are not made. Menus are not updated either. If you delete the ~.config directory. Start a KDE session, saving seems to work. If you start a gnome first then KDE, the saving does not work. Greg
yes, remove $HOME/.config, it's a workaround for this problem.
it seems it's fixed in current KDE 3.3 Beta 1. It works fine for me with 3.3 Beta1
