Description Robin Laing 2015-08-03 06:55:06 UTC
Description of problem:

While using konsole to sort our many files and directories, it crashed multiple times tonight. I tried to use the auto bug reporter but it didn't submit. I had

2. Wait for all open konsoles to crash.

Actual results:
Random crashes.

Expected results:
No crashes.

Additional info:

Your backtraces are unhelpful here. If it happens again, please install debuginfo:

debuginfo-install konsole5

Comment 2 Robin Laing 2015-08-04 11:38:47 UTC
I would install debuinfo if it didn't require so much space. This is an old machine with minimal HDD space left. Went to install and it was over 2G final install size. HDD is only 40Gig.

One thing I noticed is that the crashes seem to always be related to tab completion.

I must have had 20 crashes last night and I remember it was always using tab completion when it would crash.

Comment 3 Robin Laing 2015-08-10 02:09:17 UTC
I have installed the debuginfo. Not fully sure how to use it. This is all I get running gdb.

(gdb) run konsole
Starting program: /usr/bin/kdeinit5 konsole
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".
Detaching after fork from child process 1535.
kdeinit5: Shutting down running client.
klauncher: Exiting on signal 15
Qt: Session management error: networkIdsList argument is NULL
Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
[Inferior 1 (process 1511) exited normally]

I get 10 or more crashes an hour.

If I need to run differently, then please explain.

I will do what I can now.

I will be running the konsole tonight and will try to use the bug reporting tool as well and see what it comes up with.

Comment 4 Robin Laing 2015-08-10 03:39:21 UTC
Konsole5 just crashed and it is generating a backtrace.

Changed hardware to reflect the system.

Comment 5 Robin Laing 2015-08-10 04:15:32 UTC
The latest crash is coming up and indicating that the crash reason is

kf5-kinit-5.12.0-1.fc22

Bug 1251816 was created by abrt for the konsole5 crash that occurred. I will follow this and see if the same application is targeted for the reason.
