Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1253952
[abrt] plasma-systemsettings: QString(): systemsettings5 killed by SIGSEGV
Last modified: 2016-07-19 13:31:17 EDT
Description of problem:
I just updated from Fedora 21 to 22, and all my desktop configurations were lost/reset . So on first login I start system settings and start restoring my settings (from memory...). It crashed right after assigning a shortkey for switching desktop.
This is really bad behaviour from the software. I do understand that the new plasma framework is different and that there is many things that are
completely different and not possible to migrate settings between. That is fine.
But that does however in absolutely no way imply that nothing at all can be migrated!
Does there exist any good reasons for that when my Fedora 21 settings had eight virtual desktops, after an update to Fedora 22 it does not preserve this setting (for which there is a true and obvious 1-to-1 mapping) for instance?

By the way, the "Number of rows" number (under "Virtual Desktops" -> Desktops) allows 0 as a valid value which I think it should not. It should not go lower than 1.
