Description of problem: In the official OSP 7 installation guide, in section 7.1 we have instructions for creating the overcloud external network. These instructions don't match up with the validation step afterward. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): OSP 7 GA How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Deploy OSP 7 2. Follow installation guide instructions for creating external network 3. Network created will not have the same name as what is shown in the validation step. Actual results: The instructions are for creating a network named "nova", but the validation step shows a network named "ext-net". We should modify the network and subnet commands to create a network named "ext-net". Expected results: The instructions should show how to create a network named "ext-net". Also, the validation step shows an "ext-net" with IP addresses on the 192.0.2.0 network, which is only applicable to virt installations. This network should show the same range of IPs that was created in the previous step. Additional info: Also, there are no instructions for creating the "default" network, even though that is shown in the validation step. Users won't be able to launch instances until they have at least one tenant network, so we should include the step of creating the default network.
Assigning to Dan for review.
Hi Dan, I've pushed out the following documentation: * New section on creating a Tenant network: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_OpenStack_Platform/7/html/Director_Installation_and_Usage/chap-Performing_Tasks_after_Overcloud_Creation.html#sect-Creating_the_Overcloud_Tenant_Network * Revised section on creating an External network: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_OpenStack_Platform/7/html/Director_Installation_and_Usage/sect-Creating_the_Overcloud_External_Network.html Hopefully the commands should now match the output. Can you confirm if the changes are correct? Are there any further changes required?
