Entries from journalctl -b with the word "gnome"

Following a package update this past weekend, I'm getting an "Oh no! Something has gone wrong" upon attempting to launch any app after logging in.

The non-application (e.g. libreoffice, java) updates from the dnf log are:

gnome-shell-extension-apps-menu-3.16.2-1.fc22.noarch

How reproducible:

Immediately upon logging in, the screen is black for much longer than usual. Eventually I see the desktop. I can mouse over "Applications" and select a favorite (e.g. Firefox) and as soon as I launch the app, the screen goes black again for another lengthy period and then I get the "Oh no" display.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login
2. Mouse over "Applications"
3. Select one (any one)

Actual results:

Oh no! Something has gone wrong error after lengthy delay with a black screen.

Expected results:

Normal application launch.
