Description Steevithak 2015-09-26 17:45:12 EDT
Description of problem:
I use the Cinnamon desktop for Fedora and recently upgraded to F22. On previous versions of Fedora+Cinnamon, burning a DVD or CD was a simple process but now it's either broken or the process has changed to something non-intuitive that I haven't been able to figure out yet.

On <=F21+Cinnamon, burning a DVD worked like this:
1. Insert blank DVD
2. Folder opens for blank DVD
3. Drag stuff to folder
4. Click the "burn" button
5. Done! Eject burned DVD

On F22+Cinnamon, inserting a blank DVD has this result:

1. Window opens that says "you inserted a blank DVD Choose what application to launch" options are
  a) ask what to do
  b) do nothing
  c) open folder
2. Obviously the first two won't burn a disc, so I opt for c, open a folder. Initially this seems hopeful. It does open a window and I can drag stuff to it. However, it lacks a "burn" button. I tried a right click on the folder background to see if the "burn" option was in the context menu. No luck. I tried a right click on "Blank DVD" item in the tree view in the left side of the folder to see if "Burn" was in its context menu. No luck. I went through the File, Edit, View, Go, Bookmarks, and Help menus in the top of the folder. No "Burn" option.
3. Give up, frustrated...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
F22 + Cinnamon

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install F22+Cinnamon
2. Insert DVD
3. Try to drag stuff to it and burn

Actual results:
Lost in a maze of incomprehensible jargon/steps

Expected results:
drag stuff to an obvious DVD window and click a burn button - done!

nemo has never had this function, are you sure you weren't using nautilus (brasero-nautilus)?

you could set this to open with brasero or nautilus
