Description Thomas Chung 2004-07-14 20:12:07 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040625

Description of problem:
smartd startup script failed during the boot on Dell P650n (SCSI HD)
It's a part of kernel-utils package

# rpm -qf /etc/rc.d/init.d/smartd
kernel-utils-2.4-12.1.139

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-utils-2.4-12.1.139

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install a fresh FC3 Test 1
2. Click on See Detail during Graphical Boot
3. smartd startup script Fails

Actual Results: It seems smartd startup script fails everytime during
the boot if you have a system with SCSI HD. It seems OK if you havd
IDE HD.

Expected Results: It should have not failed duing the boot even if
you have SCSI HD.
