Description joerg.lechner 2015-11-06 08:37:44 EST
Description of problem:
F23 System on usb3 flash medium, Windows 8.1 on internal disk of an Acer E15 E5 laptop. UEFI. Grub2 boot menue is opened on PC start, F23 boots after some seconds, this is ok. If I choose the Windows entry, booting starts only after hitting entry, otherwise one has to wait forever in the boot menue, no boot happens.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 4.2.5-300.fc23.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. plugin PC with Windows 8.1 and F23
2. in the Grub boot menue choose Windows entry
3.

Actual results:
No boot of Windows 8.1

Expected results:
Boot of Windows 8.1

Additional info:
attached are 3 screenshots: Boot menue, F23 boot, Windows boot

This is normal. It isn't the default boot entry so you have to select it and hit enter.

Grub2 bootmenue, see above. Select Windows, wait for 2 secs, decided not to boot Windows, but Fedora Workstation, select, within theese 2 secs F23 Workstation. No boot, without hitting enter. In German "das könnte ein Streit um des Kaisers Bart sein", but anyway I would like to have this clarified.

Nota bene: "Streit um des Kaisers Bart" means dispute about nothing.
